Are current private school students eligible for this program?
Unless they have already received a tax credit scholarship, they are not eligible to participate.
Can my child receive a tax credit scholarship AND other scholarships?
Yes. Tax credit scholarships are capped by greater of a) the level of state spending on education in the child’s county of residence or b) the cost of tuition and fees, but this does not prevent a student from receiving other non-tax credit scholarships from other sources. However, a student cannot receive another tax credit scholarship if the total amount of both tax credit scholarships exceeds the greater of a) the level of state spending on education in the child’s county of residence or b) the cost of tuition and fees.
How is the scholarship amount determined?
Tax credit scholarships are capped by the level of state spending on education in each child’s county or city of residence. In addition, individual scholarship foundations may place other limits on the size of the scholarships they offer. Check with scholarship foundations about their individual scholarship levels.
